ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

"Talleres de Los Ballesteros" was founded in the family's home in Iguala, Mexico in 1937 before moving to Taxco in 1941.They ended up being one of Taxco's bigger names that produced beautiful silver pieces during the Mexican Silver Renaissance days..They gave us all the heart, soul and charm of Mexico, where there was no denying where the piece originated from.. They dug into their homelands past and gave us Mayan, Pre-Colombian & very classic designed ( such as this bracelet) Mexican jewelry that is highly collectible.. Their very identifiable elaborated "B" is the identity marking.

THE BANGLE:

This is one of those bracelets that seem to have no timeline, where when you look at it, it will always have a look as if it was designed in the present day and will never look old!! I call this a “Classic-Timeless” piece of jewelry.. When you see it, it gives you nothing less than having a “modern aesthetic’ vibe & definitely doesn’t appear to have been made in the 40’s!!(But it was!)

Using the elegance of 4 beautifully faceted round cuts of Amethyst, these cuts then line the top of a concave shaped center. The Amethyst sit secured in a hand made 4 prong bezel, that have a crown like appearance. It’s made of two 3.50” sections that are connected by a hinge so it can open & close.

It lacks the 'eagle" hallmark, which started in 1948 & was a mandatory stamp that was stamped on anything that was sold within or shipped out of Mexico. The eagle's duration lasted from 1948-1979.

SIZING:

To see if this will properly fit, I suggest you take a bangle that fits you well & measure it by laying it on top of a paper measuring tape & starting on say the 1" line, you will then see where it measures from & to (east to west) The 'interior' part is what you want to pay attention to, NOT the outer most part, since the height of the stones will give an inaccurate reading.. Then compare it to my 'Interior East/West measurement below**.

I must note that this is a 80+ years old bracelet, so you would expect some patina, but the man I got it from had to polish it for some odd reason. Luckily I know vintage Mexican jewelry, their time periods, hallmarks & everything else that one would look for that tell you how old a piece is, because otherwise, I would have doubted the time it was made!
