THE EARRINGS

These impeccably made earrings may be on the smaller side, but the incredible workmanship that it took to make them an absolutely perfect earring, out shines & dominates their size. It's not easy for just any jeweler to do this type of work & when you find one who has mastered it perfectly, makes you want to applaud them that much louder!

If you follow Native American jewelry (With the focus on the Zuni Pueblo) then you probably associate this style of inlay with the well known Zuni master artisan "Frank Dishta". Frank was known not only for Zuni inlay, but instead for his "Flush Inlaying" work. These are made in the Dishta style, where the stones are not raised, but rather sit flush at the same height as the bezels.

Starting from a larger cut of Sleeping Beauty turquoise, these are made with 2 artforms that take skill & know how, with the 1st being the "Art of Inlaying" while the 2nd is "Lapidary Art".

If you enlarge each photo,you can witness how perfectly each stone was cut & laid throughout both earrings! I am absolutely in awh when I see the time, the steps & the pride of an artisan that refuses to give us nothing less than the best of them!

These have a very wearable weight AND size, so if you're one who loves southwestern turquoise jewelry but can't do the weight and size that many are made with, then your ears will love these!! (See weights & size below)

A NOTE:

It's not about the amount of turquoise, nor the amount of sterling with these earrings, but rather the time consuming workmanship that dominates the earring.
