From Federico’s “One of a Kind” collection, these fabulously designed top of the line earrings are made with all natural, untreated choice cuts of Royston (tops) chunky oval cuts of Bisbee & finalized with bright vivid blue square cuts of gem grade Sleeping Beauty Turquoise.

All the turquoise was mined before treating turquoise became popularized & the turquoise back when these were mined, had more ‘harder’ cuts available, meaning that the pick was greater for quality cuts that didn’t need to be stabilization in order to cut. And in regards to turquoise, the harder & more intense colors are much more valuable

All these cuts came from the “Larry Cooley” turquoise collection, who was the ‘go-to’ turquoise guy, when designers like Federico were looking for the finest turquoise available for their own designs. After Larry’s passing, his whole collection was up for sale & because of Federico’s close ties to Larry & his family, Federico purchased the entire collection at an extremely high price (This is reflected in the price.) I can honestly say, that personally, some of Federico’s finest designs were/are designed with Cooley’s turquoise.(See each of my categories where you can click on his name to learn more about him.!)

These are not over the top in size, but what they are, are earrings made with choice turquoise! These can be worn day or night & because of their contemporary southwestern aesthetic, they can be worn anywhere in the world without feeling like you have to put on a squash blossom or any other traditional southwestern pieces of jewelry.(But of course you can, if you like!!)
