Opals are considered both precious & semi-precious & are known for their "diffraction of light" qualities. Opals are also known for their wonderful "play of color", where with movement, you see this rainbow prism of color that can range from lime greens,turquoise blues,periwinkle blues,vibrant fiery oranges to yellows.. With these particular cuts, you'll see mostly those fiery oranges.

Much like Abalone,what is so cool about using Opals is for the fact that you can use them with just about any other colored gem, because they will pull from the colors within the opals! So by pairing this with Amethyst, only compliments it!

Alternating with a cluster of oval cuts of Amethyst, the opals have a nice beveling & look almost like Mexican Fire Opal, they are that fiery!! This almost un-heard of combo of stones, gives a modern vibe to southwest made jewelry & really takes it up a notch!! On the backside (See last photo) you will notice that all the cuts have an opened backside for maximum light to enter.

These are NOT doublet/triplet Opals, which are nothing but "Man Made" Opals & are what many sellers are calling "Opals" ,which are not.. (So always ask your seller before purchasing!)These cuts by the way, are natural & come from Australia.
