THE RING:

This ring has a couple things going on that dominates it’s overall look. One is for the obvious quality that the center cut has & 2, is the color! The overall color between the Tibetan turquoise round clusters & the fabulous Royston center cut were the perfect pairing of these 2 geographical different mines & could not have been better picked.The color I would call this gorgeous deep “Sea Green” color that leans a bit toward being on the “Teal” side. The Royston’s 'Gem-Quality" is witnessed in it’s glossy-spit shine" luster , which validates that it’s a high grade rock, as well as how "Hard" the turquoise is.. What you want to keep in mind is, the harder the turquoise, the higher the quality. "Chalky" soft low grades don't give the lapidarian this type of luster when they go to cut & polish, plus the stone will immediately break from being too soft.(This is where stabilization comes in,but that's a whole other story!) .. So quality turquoise is obviously determined by the hardness, luster and color of the stone. This stone alone, speaks of the quality that Larry collected..(Read “Provenance” below)

THE SHANK:

The shank is done in a bypass style & is adjustable. It's presently sized at a size 10-3/4.. For me personally, I find that it's easier for me to adjust up in size, than to go down in size, so if you need me to go up a size (No more than) please let me know at the time of purchasing!! If you need it smaller by a size or so, there are ways to bring it down without the cost of a jeweler(You would have to email me to find out).But you can also bring it to a reputable jeweler to do this for you, since I will only adjust up, not down.

TURQUOISE PROVENANCE :

The center cut comes from the Larry Cooley collection, who, when he passed a few years back, Federico was able to purchase Larry’s whole collection that he had been collecting for decades... Turquoise connoisseurs, designers, vendors, lapidarian’ s, you name it, all wanted his collection, but because of Federico’s close ties to Larry & his family, Federico was able to purchase the whole thing, but for a pretty high price since his turquoise is of a higher quality and because most of the mines are now depleted. Larry only carried THE best, with his turquoise being “harder”  (with turquoise, hardness equates to quality) & didn’t need treatment in order for the turquoise to be cut. These days,you can’t even find some of what he had & if you did/do, it would go for quite a bit, per carat,. So when this turquoise is used up, it’s gone.

Artist Recognition, turquoise quality, cost per carat for this quality, amount of carats, turquoise availability, sterling cost & artists time are all reflected in price. However, anything with Larry’s turquoise will come with a higher price tag.

In order to give you close up photos so I can provide you with all the detail,can tend to make the item look much larger & everything is more magnified than in actuality..So to get an accurate idea of how big this is, what you can do is pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements.

I find however that photographing anything with 'yellow' in it, (orange, green) can come up a little more vivid than other colors, so please take this into consideration. I did photograph this in front of 2 different colored backdrops, so please go through all photos to see ANY variation. Remember, every monitor is different since some can show something to be more vivid and other monitors can make it look duller.
